Under 9

The conditions for Saturday morning hockey were perfect and all the under 9 kids were keen to get moving after a week off.

Redlegs and Greenbottles both had a good line up with a mixture of kids, big and small. Redlegs got off to a smashing start, making some early leads and scoring the first goal. Both teams made good use of the field with some impressive free passes. Greenbottles had some great tackles with the Redlegs defenders and some tactical passes saw them get the ball through and into the goals.

All the kids had an amazing game and deserve a pat on the back for their effort. All parents and coaches should be proud of how far they have come this season.

Redlegs vs Dartmoor – Under 13

It was a beautiful morning for hockey with the sun shining and all the kids excited to get back on the pitch after a weekend off.

The game started just as well with both sides working the ball around very well among their team mates and both teams were making the most of every opportunity they could.

Greenbottles were the first team to find the goals and this gave them a great deal of confidence and they managed to keep the Redlegs defence on their toes.

A quick run from Seth Gale from the halfway mark was enough to get Redlegs on the scoreboard which gave the rest of his team a big boost and spurred them to a few forward pushes but the Greenbottles defenders were able to keep them at bay.

Both teams got some great chances inside the circle but the Greenbottles structure allowed them to find a way through the Redlegs defence enough times to make sure they came away with the win.

Redlegs vs Greenbottles – Women

Dartmoor started the game hungry for goals, stealing the ball early, putting pressure on the Redlegs defence. Redlegs defence held up to the task fantastically, denying Dartmoor’s persistent shots time and again.

Redlegs forwards moved around attempting to create gaps for the free hits, with a few good runs into their attacking circle, only to be denied also.

Dartmoor’s persistence finally paid off, with their forwards finally breaking through. Play continued with the same tempo throughout the game, with Dartmoor peppering Redlegs valiant defence, taking out the game 8-0.
