Round 9 – Season 2024
Under 9
It was a buzzing start to Saturday hockey with Dartmore White and Redlegs ready to go right from the start.
Redlegs got off to a cracking start scoring the first goal. There was lots of action on the field with all players getting involved and touching the ball. Redlegs continued to dominate the play with a few more goals scored in the first half.
The second half was a bit more even with Levi Kitto swapping from Red to Black to even out the playing field.
Was a great start to Saturday hockey.
Redlegs vs Greenbottles – Under 13
Both teams started the game excited and full of energy which set the scene for a great game of junior hockey.
While both sides managing to get plenty of time with the ball, the intensity from Greens attackers was enough to see them go into the dugout at half time 3-0 up with Hillary Schinckel scoring her first ever goal.
Redlegs were able to steady things in the third quarter and kept them from adding anymore to the ledger up to 3/4 time but a fast break from Henry Fry got through the defence in the last quarter.
In the final stages of the game some great teamwork also saw Henry Evans find himself in the perfect spot to claim a rebound off the goal post and get his name on the goal scorers list for the first time too. Reds kept fighting until the final whistle but Greens were just too strong on the day.

The second quarter was a mix of great defending and attacking from everyone on the field ending the half one nil Redlegs way.

A sudden push from Greenbottles attack was rewarded with a goal from Madi Derrington, leaving the quarter 1-0.
The second quarter was much the same with both teams coming out keen. With a fast leading attack from Greenbottles juniors down the wing, Redlegs defence was once again put under pressure. A turnover in the play rewarded Redlegs with an attacking opportunity, with strikers Amanda Davey and Amelie Nancarrow pushing up into the circle.
With energy high, Redlegs came out determined to score. Greenbottles defence was put under pressure as Redlegs achieved a short corner. After a successful clear out by Greenbottles left them a fast run down the field. Scoring another goal to finish the game 2-0.
