A chill was in the air for Under 9s in the morning.
Under 9
A chill was in the air for the Under 9s this morning, starting the game with energy buzzing between K/L Rangers and Dartmoor.
The first half saw some crowding in the midfield and amazing advances by Kingston/Lucindale causing quick turn overs and succeeding in their passing creating two goals for the score board.
After half time both teams were reenergised and stepped back onto the pitch with passion. Both teams had many spectacular tackles and quick passes, yet Dartmoor was able to convert the quick passes to some goals of their own.
The game was very competitive with many new players shining through with their dribbling and tackling skills being nice and tidy.

Dartmoor vs Tatiara – Under 16
Dartmoor took on Tatiara on Friday night. It was a fast paced match with lots of excitement for everyone. It took Dartmoor a few tries to score past the Tatiara goalie with the first quarter score coming to 2-0.
This score just meant that Tatiara were going to fight harder in the next quarter, coming down into the attacking circle more making Dartmoor have to be more strategic with their play.
Dartmoor then proceeded to score more impressive goals in the second quarter.
Quarter three brought more competition between the two teams with Dartmoor scoring a couple of goals before Tatiara made their run down and score a great goal.
Quarter four brought a few more goals for Dartmoor and some more attack in the circle for Tatiara. Although the score was 10-1 at the end of the game both teams played well.

Dartmoor vs Tatiara- Women
It was a tight match under the lights on a cool Friday night. In the first quarter the pace was fast and both teams came out strong.
In the second quarter, Dartmoor settled and took control of the game and were finally able to break the impenetrable backline to score the first goal.
In the third quarter, Tatiara increased their pressure and their skills shone with some quick breaks. In the end, Dartmoor were able to round off the game with a couple more goals.
The game was certainly closer than the score line reflected. Special mention to Lucy for a fantastic hattrick of goals for Darts. Also worthy to note the incredible work of Sigourney in directing and defending the play so consistently for Tatiara.

Dartmoor vs Tatiara – Men
Friday night saw the men’s hockey game played between Dartmoor and Tatiara in perfect conditions.
It started at a fast pace with strong attacks in the first quarter by Tatiara, repelled nicely by the Darts defence. The few attacks by Darts however managed to find their players in space who were then able to score. End of first quarter, 2-0.
The second followed with some good back up play from both teams that produced some good chances. Darts again able to follow up, getting the ball in the back of the net to end the half at 3 nil.
In the 2nd half the Tatiara team started to tire and Dartmoor continued to pressure them, strongly supported by their extra players on the bench, creating many opportunities. But for the dogged defence of Tatiara the score could have been more…
Such determination saw one Tatiara player keep their eye so well on the ball they needed stitches…. as it resulted in a split brow. This didn’t dent the energy of the players on his team as they continued to press and were rewarded with a late consolation goal.
Thanks to both teams for the great nature with which the game was played
