Under 9 – Greenbottles vs the world!
A lovely sunny morning with all Greenbottles teams playing other clubs.
Greens 3 team was evenly matched against Redlegs, with much movement around the field and some great tackles.
Greens 2 played Kingston/Lucindale and were strong in the attack and linked up well with some passes and defended well.
Greens 1 played Dartmoor, all players worked well as a team and continued to challenge the Dartmoor defence.
Great effort by all and a big thank you to all the volunteers who support the U9’s.

Greenbottles vs Kingston/Lucindale – Under 16
Kingston/Lucindale came out strong in the first quarter beginning the first of many on the tally. Greenbottles were quick to respond in the forward line with excellent teamwork from Jada Copping passing to Eliza Withers to convert.
As the game progressed, Greenbottles’ defence in Lochie Dolphin, Tillie Derrington & Harrison Andrews was tested from Kingston/Lucindale’s Brooklyn Hill & Chris Hille. Support from Phoebe Yates and Harriet Waters in the midfield line gave Greenbottles an outlet to their forwards.
A back and forth goal scoring led to a surge ahead by Kingston/Lucindale in the 4th quarter at 3-5. However, many continuous saves from Greenbottles keeper Jack Hutchesson gave them an opportunity to begin their response to being 2 goals down.
Excellent work by Harvey Zerk to throw the ball into the circle worked to Greenbottles advantage to see young Nate Harris sneak the ball into the corner to give Greenbottles a glimpse of hope in the later part of the final quarter. A penalty stroke, nicely placed in the corner by Jesse Lewis, solidified Greens chase to finish the game in a 5-5 draw.

Greenbottles vs Kingston/Lucindale – Women
Coming out slow, Greenbottles women’s took to the field against Kingston/Lucindale Rangers. Greenbottles defence saw most of the play in the first quarter. However, fantastic work from Aimee Mastrangelo, Kate Schubert and Abby Waugh saw Kingston/Lucindale’s attack unable to convert.
In the second quarter, Greenbottles woke up and received their first goal off a short corner with a firm push from Jada Copping to Anna McGregor for the score. At half time, Greens were up 2-0 after a goal from Rachael Withers.
More attack in the third quarter from Greenbottles saw the conversion of two more goals from Shannan Derrington and Bella Dalton-Morgan. The midfield consisting of Meg Ross, Tillie & Madi Derrington paved the way in the fourth quarter to make the final score 5-0 with another goal from Bella.
